xG Technology, Inc. was
founded in 2002 as an IP-centric developer of advanced,
innovative technologies that enhance wired and wireless
communication. These technologies substantially reduce the
capital investment and operating costs required to deploy
broadband wireless networks.
The xMax family of mobile VoIP, fixed VoIP, and broadband
Internet services represents xG's first commercial product
line. xMax is the first truly standalone Wide Area Mobile VoIP
network. xMax networks are comprised of a product suite of
base stations, mobile switching centers (MSCs), mobile phones,
and modems. xMax network products are powered by xG Flash
Signal, a patented physical and MAC layer technology. They
leverage xG's patented inventions which enable the delivery of
long range mobile VoIP services in a manner that doesn't rely
on incumbent networks.
xG has an extensive patent portfolio, with 11 patents granted,
and 38 pending applications and invention disclosures,
covering the areas of VoIP system design, Physical Layer (PHY),
and Media Access Control (MAC) layer protocols.
xG is a publicly traded company listed on AIM, a market
operated by the London Stock
Exchange, in 2006. Its
stock symbol is XGT. Company headquarters are located in
Sarasota, FL, with engineering, research and development
facilities located in Fort Lauderdale, FL
