SINGLE
CYCLE MODULATION: A BREAKTHROUGH CONCEPT
Single
Cycle Modulation encompasses a suite of narrowband,
wideband, constant power and carrierless modulation
techniques that have been developed and patented by xG
Technology. The term generally applies to a variety of
modulation methods that have in common ultra-short RF
pulses, used in a variety of ways for different
applications.
Single Cycle Modulation is
implemented when individual sinusoidal cycles of RF energy
are modulated to represent one or more bits of data. This
proprietary modulation method differs from conventional
approaches where tens to hundreds of thousands of RF cycles
are required to convey a single bit of information. With
each additional cycle representing more RF power, getting
the job done with fewer cycles translates into more
power-efficient RF transmissions.
This advancement in RF power
output efficiency is especially important for mobile devices
that rely on batteries to operate. With power
consumption being the No. 1 issue in any mobile application,
Flash Signal’s energy-savings properties are key benefits to
developers and operators in this market. |
